Samples are not a stocked item. Each Sample must be pioneer crafted once ordered. After crafting, we age-stain using Charwood tone to create our old historic look.
As it ages it becomes even more authentic. We craft large samples for a better magnitude sense of Pioneer Log Siding. (2) Large beautiful 2”x 12”x 24” Charwood Samples
Charwood Exterior is more rugged plus darker in tone and the color always depends on the tree the wood was cut from.
Charwood Interior is smoother plus lighter in tone and the color always depends on the tree the wood was cut from.
Why is charwood our most popular?
Because of it’s authentic aged historic look with no up keep needed if you wish to maintain it’s old log look. The other tones are more contemporary and less aged. They may need occasional painting over time.

Unlike round logs, Pioneer requires no repeated upkeep for decades; if left to age naturally, it continues to enhance its historical appearance over time.
