ABOUT PIONEER LOG SIDING

Historic Western Log Siding — Built to Last

For over 20 years, Pioneer Log Siding has helped homeowners and builders capture the look of authentic Western log cabins without the cost and challenges of full logs.

Our handcrafted siding is made from kiln-dried Douglas Fir, then hand-hewn, distressed, and stained to create the rugged character of old frontier structures. Every board carries its own grain, knots, and texture, giving homes, cabins, lodges, and businesses a warm, historic appearance.

We’re a Colorado family-owned company that still believes in doing things the old-fashioned way—one board at a time. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just honest craftsmanship serving customers throughout the United States and Canada.

THE PIONEER LOG SIDING STORY

From Building Movie Sets to Building Something That Lasts

Before Pioneer Log Siding, I spent more than 30 years in Southern California designing frontier towns, themed environments, movie sets, and displays for the entertainment industry. My work was all about making new things look like they had stood for a hundred years. After retiring, my wife Chris and I headed for the Colorado mountains. Like many folks, we loved the look of old square-log cabins. The trouble was, real reclaimed logs often came with a wagonload of problems—rot, bugs, moisture, hidden damage, and high costs. So I rolled up my sleeves and built a better solution.

Using techniques developed over decades, I created siding from new kiln-dried Douglas Fir that captures the look of hand-hewn square logs while remaining practical, durable, and built to last.

That idea became Pioneer Log Siding.

Today, our siding can be found on homes, cabins, ranches, lodges, and special projects across the United States and Canada. It delivers the authentic frontier look people love—without tearing down historic buildings or paying the price of full logs.
